Recent Work: Invisible Grills at an Individual House on ECR, Chennai

Latest completed work: invisible grill cables fitted across a large circular courtyard opening at an individual house on ECR, Chennai. The photos below were taken on site by our team on 30 July 2026.
What we installed
A grid of high-tensile stainless steel cables stretched across a circular void in the slab, looking down into the house's inner courtyard.
The cables are anchored into a perimeter track fixed all the way around the stone ring, so the load is carried by the slab edge.
Cables run in both directions across the opening and are spaced to the opening's requirements, agreed with the owner on the site visit.
Every cable tensioned and checked before handover, so the grid stays firm and flat under foot.
Why the void needed guarding
A circular opening of this size, with the pool courtyard below it, is a fall risk for children and guests. The cable grid closes the opening while keeping daylight, air and the view down into the courtyard intact, so the house still reads as an open plan rather than a netted one.
Load checked on site
The photos show a technician lying and sitting on the finished grid. That is how we check a grid like this before handover: it must hold a person's weight without sag or movement at the anchors. It is a test of the workmanship, not a licence to climb or jump on the cables, and it is no substitute for supervision where young children use the area.
What the site visit covers
For an opening like this we measure the aperture, check what the perimeter track can be fixed to, agree the cable grade, finish and spacing with you, and hand over a written quote for the exact area.
